Supplies: Blending Stumps or Tortillons, White Graphite Paper, Stylus, Black or eraser of your choice, Neocolor II wax crayon - White and a Sharpener of choice

Narrative: Debbie may be new to the ArtRoom, but she is a seasoned designer with extensive teaching experience. In this class, the focus is on technique, not just the finished piece.

Debbie will guide you step by step through the process of using colored pencil on a black background, teaching you how to build layers, create highlights, control value, and achieve strong contrast. You’ll learn how to make colors pop on a dark surface while maintaining depth and smooth transitions.

This design was previously taught at the NET Convention, and since many painters were unable to attend, we’re excited to offer it as a Zoom class where you can learn these techniques in real time.
